Dr. Athir Haddad, 52 years old, is a Professor at the University of Basrah/ IRAQ. He received his Master's and a Ph.D. degree in Polymer Chemistry in 1994 and in 2002, respectively. During his Ph.D. period, he has focused his research on the Preparation of Hydrogel polymers for soil stabilizer, slow-release fertilizers, and Polymer drug delivery. He joined the Professor Mauro Angelitti group (University of Camerino, Italy in 2006. From 2007 to 2008, he focused his research on the Preparation of polymers via ROP, ATRP, RAFT and Click Chemistry with Professor Andrew Whittaker (AIBN, University of Queensland, Australia. In 2011, He worked on the preparation of Janus polymers at the University of Michigan/ USA. From October 2015 till now, his research activities are mainly centered on the Preparation of poly lactide nanofibers, Preparation of water soluble perylene copolymers and their IPN’s for removal of heavy metal and some biomaterials (University of Manchester/UK).

Dr. Emo Chiellini graduated in Chemistry in 1963 at the University of Pisa. He performed research activity in Polymer Science & Technology for more than 50 years at University of Pisa and as visiting Researcher/Professor ?University of Liverpool (UK), Moscow State University (Russia),University of Massachusetts (USA), University of Sao Paulo & Campinas (Brazil), University of Mogadishu (Somalia) and University of Nagasaki (Japan).
In 1980 he was appointed as Full Professor of Fundamental of Chemistry Technology at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Pisa. He is the author of more than 500 publications, and holder of 35 patents. He presented more than 300 conferences upon invitation in Scientific Institutions and Industries. He is the Editor/co-Editor of 20 books and he served as a member of the Editorial Board of various scientific journals.
Recently he received the ambitious “Giulio Natta Chemistry Award 2018”. At present he is holding the Chairmanship position of the Startup LMPE srl Company(www.lmpe.eu).

His research activity is primarily focused on the study of transport phenomena in the artificial and bioartificial organs; new biotreatment technology platform for the elimination of toxic pollutants from water and soil; Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of petroleum-based plastics and bio-based plastics; extraction of valuable substances (polyphenols, tannins) from natural matrices; hydrogen production by membrane reactors for water gas shift reaction; concentrated Solar Power Plant integrated with membrane steam reforming reactor for the production of hydrogen and hydro-methane. He has about 150 publications on chemical thermodynamics, kinetics, biomedical devices modeling, Bioreactors, LCA studies.
